IGNORE THE WARNING

Go Home Day

Beat the alarm and downstairs to meet our taxi driver for the hour drive to the airport.

It was a trip from 321 till 402 that will remain etched in my mind for a long time.

This guy made the taxi drivers we experienced previously look like Nanna out on a Sunday drive. Both Jane and I spent the time wondering whether the last day of the holiday would be our last.

This guy was a maniac. At no stage were we any less than 25 Kms over the speed limit and at one stage we were rattling along at 150kms in a 100 zone. His GPS was blinking warning sings more than the Barrenjoey Lighthouse.  Nothing seemed to phase him, even Speed Camera warnings.

We were both ashen faced when we got out.

Waited around airport until 5am before gates opened and then had a spell in the lounge.

Apparently there is a reward for surviving near death experiences and ours was in the form of scoring a Business Suite , with a lounge sized chair, visitors seat, tray half the size of a dining table and that much legroom your feet didn’t touch the end. There was also a 66 cm tv.

On top of that we were drinking champagne at 830 in the morning.

It was one of those flights you wished were longer, probably because I slept for about 5 of the 10 hours.

A very quick trip through airport and we were unpacked and admiring the bathroom renovations by 830.

Both still tired and the 645 tee of time could be a challenge tomorrow.
